Detroit Lions Kevin Smith Wins the StatSheet NFL Offensive Player of the Week: 11-22-2011

Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith was a terror on the ground, leading the NFL in rushing yards to become the StatSheet NFL Offensive Player of the Week. Smith ended the day with 16 carries for 140 yards, 61 receiving yards and three total touchdowns in the 49-35 victory over the Panthers. For the season, he has rushed for 159 yards to go along with three touchdowns.

This is the first time this season that Smith has won the award. Running back Ray Rice of the Ravens is the runner-up (104 rush yds, 43 rec yds, 2 TD). Honorable mention goes to tight end Kellen Winslow from the Buccaneers (9 rec, 132 rec yds). Running back LeSean McCoy, who finished 28th, was the highest ranking player from the Eagles (23 car, 113 rush yds).

StatSheet NFL Defensive Player of the Week: Chris Clemons, Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Chris Clemons had a spectacular game, registering a personal season high for sacks in a game and earns the StatSheet NFL Defensive Player of the Week award. Clemons registered three solo tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles during the 24-7 win against the Rams. In total for the season, he has 28 tackles and eight sacks.

This is the first time Clemons has earned the award this season. The runner-up is linebacker Von Miller of the Broncos (10.0 tkls, 9.0 solo, 1.5 sacks, 1.0 FF). Packers cornerback Tramon Williams receives honorable mention (9.0 tkls, 7.0 solo, 2.0 int).

StatSheet NFL Offensive Rookie of the Week: Torrey Smith, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith had a memorable game and tied for the most receiving yards in the NFL. Smith had 165 yards and one touchdown on six receptions in the 31-24 victory over the Bengals. For the year, he has 590 yards receiving in addition to five touchdowns.

Smith receives the StatSheet NFL Offensive Rookie of the Week award for the second time this season. Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is the runner-up (6 rec, 128 rec yds, 1 TD). Honorable mention goes to Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (22-38, 280 pass yds, 37 rush yds, 3 TD, 4 int).

StatSheet NFL Defensive Rookie of the Week: Von Miller, Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller was all over the field, recording a personal season high for tackles in a game. Miller put up nine solo tackles, one sacks, and one forced fumble during the 17-13 win against the Jets. For the year, he has 48 tackles and 9.5 sacks.

Miller wins his first StatSheet NFL Defensive Rookie of the Week award this season. The runner-up is Titans linebacker Colin McCarthy (10.0 tkls, 10.0 solo, 1.0 FF). Defensive end Thomas Keiser of the Panthers receives honorable mention (5.0 tkls, 5.0 solo, 2.0 sacks).
