New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was named the StatSheet NFL Offensive Player of the Week after leading the AFC in passing yards. Brady threw for 423 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions on 31 for 40 passing in the 35-21 victory over the Chargers. He is still the NFL leader in passing on the season with 940 yards to go along with a 71.6% completion rate, seven touchdowns and one interception.
This is the first time this season that Brady has won the award. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin of the Eagles is the runner-up (13 rec, 171 rec yds, 2 TD). Honorable mention goes to wide receiver Miles Austin from the Cowboys (9 rec, 143 rec yds, 3 TD).
StatSheet NFL Defensive Player of the Week: Roman Harper, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints safety Roman Harper was a playmaker on the field, clearing the path for his StatSheet NFL Defensive Player of the Week win. Harper recorded seven solo tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble during the 30-13 win against the Bears. For the year, he has 16 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
This is the first time Harper has earned the award this season. The runner-up is cornerback Charles Woodson of the Packers (5 tkls, 5 solo, 2 int). Packers safety Morgan Burnett receives honorable mention (6 tkls, 6 solo, 1 sack, 1 int, 1 FF).
StatSheet NFL Offensive Rookie of the Week: Denarius Moore, Oakland Raiders
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Denarius Moore put forth an impressive effort this past week. Moore finished the game with five receptions for 146 yards and one touchdown in the narrow 38-35 loss against the Bills. For the year, he has 146 yards receiving in addition to one touchdown.
This is the first time Moore has received the StatSheet NFL Offensive Rookie of the Week award this season. Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green is the runner-up (10 rec, 124 rec yds, 1 TD). Honorable mention goes to Texans running back Ben Tate (103 rush yds, 32 rec yds).
StatSheet NFL Defensive Rookie of the Week: Mason Foster, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster was a force all over the field this past week. Foster put up seven solo tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble during the 24-20 win against the Vikings. For the season, he has 16 tackles and one sack.
Foster wins his first StatSheet NFL Defensive Rookie of the Week award this season. The runner-up is Browns defensive end Jabaal Sheard (5 tkls, 4 solo, 1 sack, 1 FF). Linebacker Donald Butler of the Chargers receives honorable mention (8 tkls, 5 solo, 1 sack). The highest ranking player from the Eagles is linebacker Casey Matthews, who finished ninth (7 tkls, 4 solo).
