Oakland Raiders Darren McFadden Wins the StatSheet NFL Offensive Player of the Week: 12-14-2010

Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden wins the StatSheet NFL Offensive Player of the Week award after leading the AFC in rushing yards. McFadden had 123 yards rushing on 16 carries, 86 yards receiving and three total touchdowns in the 38-31 defeat versus the Jaguars. To this point in the season, he has rushed for 993 yards to go along with 10 touchdowns.

McFadden has won the award two times this season. Wide receiver Andre Johnson of the Texans is the runner-up (9 rec, 140 rec yds, 2 TD). Honorable mention goes to tight end Jason Witten from the Cowboys (7 rec, 69 rec yds, 2 TD). Wide receiver DeSean Jackson was the highest ranking player from the Eagles, who finished fourth (4 rec, 210 rec yds, 1 TD).

StatSheet NFL Defensive Player of the Week: LaMarr Woodley, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley had a spectacular game, clearing the path for his StatSheet NFL Defensive Player of the Week win. Woodley recorded five solo tackles, two sacks, and one interception during the 23-7 win against the Bengals. For the year, he has 44 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and two interceptions.

This is the first time Woodley has earned the award this season. The runner-up is cornerback Malcolm Jenkins of the Saints (4 tkls, 4 solo, 2 int). Ravens cornerback Josh Wilson receives honorable mention (7 tkls, 7 solo, 1 int). Finishing in 25th is safety Quintin Mikell from the Eagles (6 tkls, 6 solo, 1 int).

StatSheet NFL Offensive Rookie of the Week: Ryan Torain, Washington Redskins

Washington Redskins running back Ryan Torain lead the NFL in rushing yards this past week. Torain finished the game with 24 rush attempts for 172 yards in the narrow 17-16 loss against the Buccaneers. For the year, he has rushed for 563 yards in addition to four touchdowns.

This is the first time Torain has received the StatSheet NFL Offensive Rookie of the Week award this season. Buccaneers wide receiver Arrelious Benn is the runner-up (4 rec, 122 rec yds). Honorable mention goes to Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (5 rec, 43 rec yds, 1 TD).

StatSheet NFL Defensive Rookie of the Week: Alterraun Verner, Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans cornerback Alterraun Verner was all over the field, recording a personal season high for tackles in a game. Verner put up 10 solo tackles during the tight 30-28 loss to the Colts. For the season, he has 63 tackles and two interceptions.

Verner wins his first StatSheet NFL Defensive Rookie of the Week award this season. The runner-up is Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington (8 tkls, 6 solo, 1 int). Linebacker Travis LaBoy of the 49ers receives honorable mention (4 tkls, 3 solo, 1 sack, 1 FF).
